Snowy Trees

It's spring, but it's been snowy! This picture is inspired by snowy spring days. :)

It uses a variety of paper sizes. The trees and clouds are done with 9mm strips. Some of the snowflakes and one of the bunnies use 1/4in paper strips, and there are some 1/8th in strips on the insides of two of the trees.

I had originally added some pine needles (made from 1/16th inch paper) to two of the trees, as well.

I wasn't crazy about the look of the pine needles (above).

So, I decided that to finish the picture, I would add some more snow at the bottom and just a few pine needles on one of the treetops.

UPDATE 2025! I decided to add some plexiglass to this frame to better protect the quilling (though it has held up wonderfully for the past seven years!).
Because some of the paper strips are deeper than the mat, I added silver-edged quilled corner pieces on top of the mat to raise the glass (well, actually plexiglass).
The glass makes the work look much more finished, and I am very happy with the decision!
